TAG, ROUND ROBIN, PENPAL, LOTTERY... HOW THE FORUM WORKS :D

I would like to contribute with the new users, who - as me in the begin - still do not understand as works some topics or thread.
I plagiarized the idea of a topic in Portuguese by Asunako, and I adapted to the English, who I speak perfectly... badly! ;) Thus, I will need of help of all people. :D
These informations already exist in the forum, but they are dispersed and I only collected them here

FDC (First Day Cover):

A first day cover (FDC) is an envelope where the postage stamps have been cancelled on their first day of issue. Depending on the policy of the nation issuing the stamp, official first day postmarks may sometimes be applied to covers weeks or months after the date indicated.

* The first day of issue is the day on which a postage stamp, postal card or stamped envelope is put on sale, within the country or territory of the stamp-issuing authority.

FB (FRIENDSHIP BOOK):

Often called an FB. Most swappers are speaking about a regular FB when using this term, though this term can also be used in more general sense to refer to any/all of these types of books. A regular FB often (but not always) is a few sheets of paper with a decorated cover, usually stapled together, to make a small book. Typically FBs will fit in a regular envelope, so that several can be sent at one time for relatively little postage. One person will make the FB and include on it information about who the FB is for including their address and who they are. They will also include who they are as the creator of the book (these can be created by and for the same person). The book is then sent to another FB collector/signer. The recipient will add their personal information: name, address, and sometimes additional information such as whether they're looking for new pen pals, new swaps, date of birth, or anything else they choose to include. The book continues to be sent to other people until it is full. Typically whoever fills it up will return to the person for whom it was made.

More informations here or search here.

Friendship sheet
As the name implies, they are nearly the same as Friendship books, but they are made on a single sheet of paper or stationery.

Deco
Decos are similar to FB's, but are often larger in size. The cover is often decorated with interesting materials like magazine pictures, rubber stamps, decorative papers, and other embellishments. Each person who signs decorates a full page in the book. Sometimes the book has a theme, for example cats. Then, each person decorates their page following the theme. As with FB's, when these are full, they are sent home to the person for whom the book was made.

Lyrix
Lyrix are much like decos except that each page is decorated using lyrics from a song. Some are more plain with the words simply written in them, others are as artistic as decos with pictures and other ornamental adornments.

Quotz
Quotz are like Lyrix, but instead of song lyrics they contain quotes from movies. These can also be themed, such as Brad Pitt movie quotes. Quotz can be plain text or decorative.

Slam
Slams can be themed or regular. Typically they are usually small like a standard friendship book. Often they have a "sign-in" page where you put your label or name, then each page will often contain a question which you answer (i.e. When was the last time you said "I love you") and the signer would write the appropriate response. At the end there is often a sign-out page as well where it's dated. Slams have many variations and can be "sign if" slams (you sign only if the statement or question applies to you). These are handled in a number of ways, but most of them become more clear when you have it in-hand.

Crams
Crams are like friendship sheets or book, but no one includes any personal information. The idea (as the name implies) is to "cram" as many names and addresses into the provided space.

There are several types of friendship books. Often they are created with a theme. For a regular friendship book, usually the them is only indicative of what appears on the cover. For decos, lyrix, and quotz, the theme is usually carried through out the book.

LOTTERY:
It is a new modality in the forum. Somebody offers one or more item for drawing. All the ones that want to participate post a message in the topic.
The lottery can have a period predetermined or to the choice of the owner. This will choose by raffle the winner (or winners).
Each lottery has specific rules, therefore it is reasonable to read first the post of the owner, to prevent confusions and annoyances.
Some topics are adopting a way to the raffle to be clean. Sees here or here.

ROUND ROBIN:
The concept of RR is the formation of groups to the exchange of things: postcards, notebook or another thing.
In the event of postcards, the owner of the RR chooses the theme (or themes), the amount of postcards and of members of the group. He is responsible to organizing the groups, collecting and distributing the addresses and checking when the members of the group send and receive the postcards.
Who participates of the group must send the postcards in a period predetermined, informing when sends them and when receives some postcard.
In the RR also it is indicated that the sender writes in the postcard the name of the RR and the group. It is also convenient to send a U2U to inform the users when receives a postcard.
It can to participate of several groups, having vacancy available.

SENDING A POSTCARD:

To not "stress" the addressee of the postcard, it would be good that you write in the postcard some important informations:
1. your name and screen name (nick name).
2. if are about a private exchange/swap, a TAG, a Round Robin (in this case, it would be useful to inform which the group).
3. the date of sending.
Any other informations that you judge necessary.

My note: I have 2 postcards whose senders I do not know who are. They are not signed and the postage stamp is unreadable.

Here you find help to fill the postcard. More information, here.

TAG:
The concept of a TAG is an infinite chain of postcards being exchanged among members. Here is how it works...
1. A user initiates a Tag by opening a new Tag theme topic.
2. The next user who posts in the Tag thread automatically tags the originating user in step one, and owes him or her a card. The user in step 2 will need to contact (U2U) the user in step 1 to obtain their mailing address. Once they have the mailing address, they need to send them a postcard.
3. The next user who posts in the Tag thread automatically tags the user in step two, and owes him or her a card. The user in step 3 will need to contact the user in step 2 to obtain their mailing address, and likewise send them a postcard. This process continues for the life of the thread.
4. In the postcard, it is reasonable that the sender writes the name of the TAG, to not to confuse the addressee. Is pleasant also to send a U2U to inform the users "tagged" when receives a postcard.
