Here you can find all the prices http://www.posta.ch/en/post-startseite/post-privatkunden/post-verse... |

Dear Swiss postcrossers! Could anyone help me with the following information:
-how much does it cost to send a card from Switzerland outside Europe, how expensive stamp do I need?
-where is it possible to buy stamps?
-how I can send cards from Switzerland? Postboxes or only regular offices?
Many-many thanks in advance! |

I am very fortunate and will visit Switzerland in the Summer
The Swiss Post Office website that a previous post in this thread is very helpful and clear about prices for mailing ( I am assuming that a postcard
costs the same to mail as a thin letter, according to dimensions and speed of delivery needed)
Perhaps someone could also advice me please about the following:
Sending priority ( postcard) does it have to have some type of sticker on the back of the card also, or just the postage stamps for correct value of
priority mail? In the UK we put an airmail sticker on and the correct value stamps.
Can I buy postage stamps only at the Post Office, or will other places be selling them also ( in values suitable for international postcards to Europe
and possibly also to Other Parts of the World)
Do I have to hand them in at Post Office for mailing, or can I use a street post box ( if you have them).
Also, are postcards commonly on sale in tourist shops/museums and such places. I am going on a few of the well-known train trips, and wonder if there
are likely to be souvenir postcard available on the trains or at the railway stations? Is there a typical price for postcards ?
Any other advice for possible Postcrossing matters whilst I am in your lovely country would be very welcome...there is bound to be something I haven't
thought of asking.
Thanks for reading my post.

Oh dear
I just saw, nobody answered your question. Though my english is not good, I'll try.
Switzerland outside Europe costs 1.60 slowly and 1.90 fast.
Stamps you can buy in every post office and sometime at the place, where you are buying the cards.
We have postboxes in every city and villiages, or regular post offices.
Hope, this will be helpful to you. |

It would be helpful to put the priority-sticker on the back.

Post offices will have all sort of stamps. Sometimes you can buy stamps at the same place where you get postcards.
Do I have to hand them in at Post Office for mailing, or can I use a street post box ( if you have them).
Both is possible.
Also, are postcards commonly on sale in tourist shops/museums and such places. I am going on a few of the well-known train trips, and wonder if there

I really don't know where all about you can buy postcards. At most of the kiosks the price is 1.20, but in touristy places they often are
cheaper. In the stores you often pay 2 Swissfranks ore more.
