When we will have next Latvian Postcrossing meeting?
1st Latvian Postcrossing meeting will take place on the 16th of December in Riga and it's being organized by "Latvijas PASTS"
Time: 16th December, at 16:00

Why exactly at 16.00? I think many of postcrossers are working at this time. Anyway, I'll try to get off my work earlier on 16 of December and be in
time.
Any ideas what postcrossers will do there during meetup?
And also I'm interested if Latvijas Pasts in Sakta building has a special room for meetings? Because it's not possible to organize a meetup in the
room where all customers are waiting in queue. |

I know 16.00 is not the best time, but still better than 13.00 or 14.00 as it was planned at the beginning. I am also leaving from work early on
Thursday, but hopefully next time we can do the meeting on more acceptable time for everybody, for example, on Saturday.
In Sakta they have some kind of conference hall, so we wont be meeting in the room, where all customers are waiting.
They will have tea/coffee and some snacks ready for us.
Plan for meeting looks like this:
1. Opening/introduction, general information about the project etc.
2. Collective signing and sending of the cards. Latvian post has prepared special post stamp for our meeting, so don't send all your cards out on day
before
3. Informal part - stories, experience, ideas etc.
Please bring few of your favourite or special cards received through Postcrossing.

I've got 5 postcards to send, so I will keep them until our meet-up. That's a cool idea.

I was there too! I was really nice, but very short - and just some people got lots of postcards and stamps and the others don't. Was kind of a pity -
anyway I enjoyed it! |

I don't know how many people, like 30? around that, but they were a photographer and we did a group photo and I think that it will also be shown on
TV! Can please someone give me the link for the picture and the news from the TV? I really like to see them (they also can be in Latvian, however I'm
learning Latvian since Aug. 2010, I can understand some parts).

Hi everybody!
I was really happy to meet everyone - came more people than I expected!
We will be shown on Russian speaking TV channel called PBK some time on news between 20.30 and 21.00 tonight!
Maybe later the story will be on internet as well - I will try to find it.
About the next time.. I think that should be on Saturday, some nice place, where everybody can sit down with snacks and drinks - either some cafe or
at someone's home, then we chat and show each other our favourite cards etc.
I think we should organize meeting again in the beginning of next year. Do you agree?
Any more ideas how to make next time better? |

downloading? That would be so nice! haha! I really like to see us! How great!
Well, next time I won't be here (how sad, but I enjoyed this meeting, my first postcrossing meeting. ), but I think it would be better to meet somewhere, as you said,
someone's house or a meeting point and then we can also introduce ourselves to each other - would be nice to know your "postcrossing storys". |

Was there, was really nice, though I agree with Zaone that we should do a more informal meeting next time. Would like to get to know you more.
Saw the news also, came just in time to see. Well the "group photo" was there all right, and some interviews as well. I believe there will be more
postcrossers in Latvia from now on.

Next time (I am pretty sure there will be next time) we probably should make cool photo reportage about our meeting for Postcrossing blog - like other
countries have done.

Those photos are OK, but what about the atmosphere...
Most Postcrossers are in jackets, was it cold there? Or was there no place to leave clothes?
It would be much better to sit somewhere and have some hot drink, and talk and share our thoughts about Postcrossing.
I'll be waiting for the next meet-up time and date |

Yeah, well, they had some place to sit and talk and also very nice piparkukas (gingerbread) and also fruit tea! But unfortunately lots of people went
away, when the free cards and stamps were gone. That was kind of sad. I think next time, maybe with out free cards/stamps. And with more chairs to sit and tables, as you already said! |
