Although the kanji are wrong, I think what is trying to be said is along the lines of "happiness in life is a sign that you are loved."

I think the Japanese should be written:
生活の中に幸せ(がある事は)は
愛されているしるしなのだ。

Hope that answers your question :)

Thanks, Initalics! These words were on my notebook and I thought that they can mean nothing, so I wanted to check. ;)

(1) In noodle bowl dissolve soup in hot water(270-300cc).
(2) Add noodles in the boiling water(1l) and cook for 2 minutes. Drain the noodles and serve into the bowl of (1).
(3) Put sesame, ginger and leek if you like.

If this is Japanese,
"Yuri", boy's or girl's name (maybe for anime/comic characters).

The characters printed on the little drum, on the shirt and on the fan are all 祭 matsuri meaning "festival."

It's really hard to translate what the cat says - "わっしょい Wasshoi."
"Heave-ho!" is the closest, probably.
It is the common shout people make when they carry a mikoshi (portable Shinto shrine) at a Japanese festival.

Japanese postcrossers - please help

I need help finding a knitting patterns. I have a picture of the sweater I want to knit, but I don't know where to buy the pattern.
The picture is probably the cover of a magazine, or something. It has japanese writing on it (probably the name of the magazine), but I can't read japanese. I need someone to translate the text for me, or help me find a place to buy the patterns. I will certainly send something from Norway to the person that helps me. :)
The picture is attached.

Hi all. :) I'm looking for a very specific Gotochi card. I don't collect Gotochi cards but I do collect squid cards. This card is a blue squid shaped card that says Toyama on it (I'm assuming that's the famous town of the firefly squids which I really want to see some day)
Does anyone know of anyone that can find this card for me? i will trade anything for it. So I'll do 2 for 1 or 3 for 1 or candy or whatever :)

Thank you

180 yen each.
When sending abroad, it costs:

*Written and stamped single card
220 yen - 1st zone
260 yen - 2nd zone
300 yen - 3rd zone

*Written/unwritten single card in an envelope
(if it's sent via ordinary air mail)
The same price as sending a written and stamped single card

(if it's sent via small packet)
120 yen - 1st zone
150 yen - 2nd zone
170 yen - 3rd zone

For checking "zone", please go to:
http://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/charge/list/index_en.html

(Turkey is included in 2nd zone, as well as North America, Middle East and Europe)

FYI, sending a single standard-size postcard to all over the world via air mail costs 70 yen.

Hope this helps :)
