Hello again,
It might seem early, but there is a lot of planning involved in the upcoming meet up here in Washington DC. A lot of things still have to be decided
and I will share specifics as plans are made and confirmed. What I know right now is we will be meeting at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum, 15
Sep from probably 10:30-2:30-ish. We will not have a got out in town postcards buying session like usual so BYOP (bring your own postcards). There
are postcards for sale in Union Station (across the street from the museum) and in the Museum's giftshop, both places have a fairly limited selection,
so if you are picky, try to shop beforehand if you can. There will be time during the meet up to shop in the giftshop, so if can't arrive early, no
need to fret, you will have time before our postcard signing session. Also, due to construction projects going on at the museum, spaces for attending the meet up are limited. It is unfortunate, but to get the
awesome behind-the-scenes access we are aiming for with this event, we have to have a limit. The total that can fit in the spaces available is 20.
If you would like to attend, all you have to do is post below and I will add you to the list. If later on you find that you are unable to make it,
please post again so that I can open your spot up to someone else who might want to participate. If more than 20 people sign up, I will create a
waiting list.
Feel free to post any questions and I will answer them as my schedule allows.

Meet in the atrium, by the Pony Express display (not hard to locate as it is HUGE) no later than
11:00.

11:40 - 12:00 Collections Viewing**
12:00 - 12:20 Lunch***
12:20 - 1:00 Postcard Signing/Socializing
* Scavenger Hunt sheet can be picked up from the Information Desk as you enter the museum. If staff are not present, look for the
PINK sheet of paper. This would be a good time to visit the gift shop and pick up a few
postcards if you didn't have the opportunity to buy any before hand. Please bear in mind that the Postal Museum's gift shop has a very limited
selection.
** Objects to be presented as a surprise.
*** I, ifthelensfits, am paying for lunch and it will be light as this is a 2 hour event and I am a college student. Donations
appreciated but not required. I am 99% certain it will be pizza, veg (no meat) will definitely be offered. |

I will post the details as soon as they are decided upon. I don't want to post a "rough draft" and then there later be lots of changes. I have been
working through competing demands between personal illness, injured family members, school and work and haven't had the opportunity to meet with
museum staff. I will keep all of you posted, I hope to have a schedule within the coming weeks. |

Wow, we would love to have you. Anyone and everyone is invited (until spaces fill up). We will most likely be having at least one next year. This
one will be our 4th.  Please keep us in mind, in case I forget,
which is sadly likey (WAY TOO BUSY  ). I aim to schedule them a
bit off season as DC is hot and jam packed with tourists during the summer so March/April and September/October time frame.
