petition for UK Postcrossing Stamps

Pretty new to this site and even newer to the forum. I've had a few postcards now from members using 'Postcrossing' stamps - very unusual and really pretty. Where are you getting those? In the UK it's quite hard to get pretty stamps, most are boring coloured squares adored with the Queen's head - alas special commemorative ones are sometimes available and I'm always asking if they have 'pretty' ones when I go in and buy my postcard stamps. Alas 'post crossing' stamps, never seen them, post office has never heard of them....just curious I suppose.

There isn't a UK Postcrossing stamp (yet!)
RM commemorative issues for 2016:

You can buy online from RM for one small postage charge per order.
Many of us like sites such as http://www.philatelink.co.uk/
for discount mint stamps. Similar sites on eBay.

Alocin07, welcome to the forum.

Postcrossing stamps are issued officially by the postal government in each country (such as Finland's Posti, Netherland's PostNL, Russian Post) when the interest group submits the request/petition to them and if it is approved.

The official Postcrossing blog has an article on each one of them.

Your post office has not heard of Postcrossing stamps, because they are not issued in your country. I'd assume the stamp advisory committee at Royal Mail group is the one to be contacted to discuss the possibility.

I agree with foxfires. Royal Mail is selling great stamps online. Currently they have Rugby World Cup, Starwars, Alice in Wonderland, etc.

Thank you for these links. I've shopped online with Royal Mail before and wouldn't hesitate to do so in order to get pretty stamps for postcards however a postcard stamp is £1 and they only sell in commemorative packs, so a 1st class, a 2nd class, a £1, then a £1.33 stamp etc....basically I'd want to buy say a dozen stamps all with the £1 denomination for the cards, the others in the pack are of little use really. I always ask at the post office counters and when they have the £1 pretty ones get way more than I actually need :)

Can someone make a thread to display all the Postcrossing stamps? It's hard to find them on the blog from one page to the next.

nisnoopy3,
we have a thread now.

Currently (?) Royal Mail is holding a survey about the stamps for 2019. You can choose between various themes and also recommend other ones. So if many people ask for a Postcrossing stamp maybe it works. :)

I do not know if the survey is still going on and unfortunately can not give a link because I can not open the website (either because the survey is over or because I already answer it). Just search for "royal mail 2019" on Google and you should find it. :)
