Interesting / Funny Things Received

I recently received a scan (MRI, I think) of the sender's brain. I think this is the coolest/strangest inclusion I have yet received with a postcard.

I'd love to know what other interesting / weird things people have been sent through Postcrossing. So I am starting this thread for reporting particularly interesting, nice, or funny things you have received *with* (not instead of, there is already a thread for that) an Official. As with the Quirky/Funny Requests thread, please do not use this thread to complain about users, etc. It is simply to report on the quirky things people send along with their postcards!

That is so cool! What a clever idea. I don't think I've ever received anything particularly odd, but my very first postcard came with a sheet of German-language cards. It made me so happy :D

I think this is a great idea and I just happen to have two to share with you. Recently, I received from the U.S.A. a 16.5 x 10 cm packet of Texas Bluebonnet wildflower seeds and it was all done up just like a postcard with the stamps on the back of the packet, complete with address and good wishes. I was totally delighted by the surprise and can't wait until next spring to plant them. I was also amazed that my postal service allowed them to go through.

The second was over a year and a half ago at least and it was a carefully folded teabag taped to the outside of the postcard. There was so much tape that it was impossible to remove the teabag without destroying it and the card. I have it put aside as one of those odd things you keep because you know that someone was thinking of you and you appreciated the thought and the effort. I was also amazed it made it through the mail.

I can't wait until more is added to this post...I think it's a great idea!

I have received a "postcard" that was a sunflower seed packet. It was prepared and posted like a postcard (no envelope with the stamp and address right on the packet), and I am amazed the USPS postal machines didn't destroy it. Also, since it came from overseas, I am surprised they did not confiscate it. (sending seeds outside the country is sketchy).

I also received a Nutella recipe book with a card in an envelope.

I also received a card from Russia in an envelope with paper money and stamps.

I received a random key :P
With a note saying that I shall try it in any door I find, one day a door will open

Have you tried it in any doors yet? Someone once told me that a key will open one in 50 doors, but I never tested it. If it's true, it makes me a bit nervous (although I suppose 50 doors is quite a lot).

I recently received air freshener, like one of those things you hang in your car, with an indescribable, *very* strong scent. Even though it was still in its wrapping, I had to banish it to the garage, the scent was so strong.

I hope the sender wasn't trying to send me a message! :D

That might be the coolest metaphor I've seen. What did you end up doing with the key?

Knowing that I master the art of putting things away in totally inadequate places, the challenge will rather be to find the key again

In my profile I have written that I collect stamps and a few days ago I received a postcard from Russia in an envelope in which there were also several old stamps, some of them of the 70s (Soviet Union). It was incredible!!

I received a folded postcard in an envelope and there were a few surprises! Beautiful stamps with birds and a small golden colour toy for my Christmass tree. It made my day! :D

Today I got an oyster shell from the Black Sea. I am really surprised it made it in one piece!

In this tag you are supposed to send paper items like postcard, sticker, bookmark, etc

The favourite thing I have received so far was a tiny hand knit Santa hat - just big enough to fit my thumb! So cute, and I just adore tiny items!

I have a little box of small surprising items that were sent to me on the official page. Envelopes often hold little treassures! :D There was some tea, opera ticket, lots of train trickets, coins (at least 5 times), paper money (3 times), bunch of used Japanese stamps (like 30, and the sender was not from Japan), whole page of a newspaper (twice, one from Russia and one from Taiwan), a friendship bracelet... I'm very fond of them
