The icon next to the topic

What does the icons next to the topic name mean?
(The sheet, envelope, the sheet with fire or lock)

Maybe there was already answer somewhere, but I haven't found it.

I think you are talking about the Forum, and not the Postcrossing Official site, right?

If you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page you will see an explanation for each icon that is used on that page. So, for example, on the start page only the sheet and the sheet with the gray dot is used. At the very bottom you see "Key" and it says the sheet with the dot means "New posts in this forum since last active" and without the dot means "No new posts in this forum since last active".

If more icons are used (the lock, etc.) it again is explained under "Key" at the bottom of the page.

Hope this helps!

Oh, you are right! I never noticed that.

The ones that have en envelope icon when I look at the site are (at least for the first couple of pages of the "General Topics" area) topics I have contributed to, but that do not have a lot of comments. But I can't figure out what exact rule they are following...
