#6 Oh my, #30 Rocky sent me a Donald Trump and Melania on a motorcycle, artwork that is really unforgettable. I would love to see him try to ride that bike.

The painting makes me think of this article from the past month:

That motorcycle painting is Jon McNaughton's latest. (The Trump artist cited a few times in that Huff Po piece). Scary stuff.

All my June cards are written, stamped, and mailed at the post office. I can now relax until I have to start recording the ones that arrive.

#17 reporting in with first arrival

#30 rocky30 As usual, the first card to arrive! 150th anniversary of completion of the transcontinental railroad. Golden Spike National Historic Site. Glad that the builders of the railroad (mostly Chinese in the West) and the people who lived along the route (Native Americans) got to participate in the re-enactment, and share some of the truth about the history.

NARR June 2019 – Report #1

The first cards of the month have come in!

#17 Yoiyumtewa: sent an image from the Stars & Stripes Awkward Americana series, this one poking fun at Patrick Henry's famous quote, “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” - with a less passionate revolutionist behind him declaring, “Just Liberty for me.” Very funny. Cool The Flash stickers and a mouthwatering description of some of your summer picnic favs. Thanks!

#22 Austen777: sent an exterior shot of the iconic, windmill clad, Dutch Haven (Amish bakery, restaurant, gift shop, and overall tourist trap) in the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch country. Sounds like you had a nice visit. It’s been years since I have traveled through this area, mostly visiting friends at local colleges – maybe it's time for a short weekend hop this summer. Fun stamps, too, including the 15-cent "PS: Write Soon" one. Thanks!

Great start to the month!

You can view all incoming June cards HERE...

About a quarter of my outgoing June cards have been sent…

#13 ladybug513 St George's Church, Nordlingen, Germany. Cool vintage black and white card. Your NYC trip...and to the Empire State Building...so, you have something of a Sleepless in Seattle life? Or was that You've Got Mail? I always get so confused....lol

Thanks from #16 to:

#23 steresem - a gorgeous photo of "the Needles" at Cannon Beach, Oregon, one of my favorite places. Thank you. Yes, strawberry lemonade is a great drink, but my summer favorite is still unsweetened iced tea.

#16 alcott1 - brick building (former house?) at the John James Audubon State Park in Henderson, Kentucky. Glad you enjoyed hiking there. There are soooo many places I want to see.

#17 yoiyumtewa - terra-cotta folk art critters from India. Now you have me asking that same question, "What are they singing?" :)

#20 serafaina - a picture from her town of Blacksburg, Virginia. That brick plaza and sidewalk make it look very friendly for pedestrians. Is it?

Thanks, everyone.
