Hurray! I've added both of these meetups to the Postcrossing calendar, and will add them to the 150 Years of Postcards page on the next update. Thank
you Sonataca, from bringing the anniversary celebrations to S. Francisco! |

Thank you Ana for adding this one! It's been a long time wish to do a meetup nearby
And 0902, ooh I get a little confused since you said "interested" instead of "going" but thanks for letting me know |

Question for those planning to attend -- are any of you into vintage and/or handmade cards? I pick up retro and vintage cards various places, and
make my own from time to time. Would love to compare and maybe trade. |

I do handmade cards, but many of them are scanned then printed. Are you into owning the original or is the concept enough.
I announced my attendance on Facebook and in a U2U, but I want to make sure I am acknowledged , so yes I am coming. |

I'm more interested in originals. Would certainly love to see your work though!

I will be bringing a friend whom I have recently introduced to Postcrossing. He is currently learning how it works. (I don't even know his
Postcrossing ID (blush!)). |

Martin, I'm sorry I forgot to respond to you! I got you and your friend down on the list.
Ruth, I have you and your guest down as well!
Shelley, welcome to postcrossing! I'm glad you'll be coming to the meetup!
And everyone, we're looking at a lovely number of people planning to come. Hopefully everything goes well!
In case you cannot attend, please let me know. You can send me a message at my email address (I assume everyone has my email address) or you can reach
out to me on facebook or the main postcrossing website.

Update!
1. Venues have changed
We will no longer be meeting at Barnes & Noble in El Cerrito or Leland's in Burlingame due to some problems. Instead, we will now meet Saturday on
Oct 5th at The Junket located in the same plaza as Barnes & Noble in El Cerrito (They have their own postcards which they will restock so we can
buy them!!!). On Sunday the 6th of October, we will meet at Sapore's Italiano Ristorante in the same downtown area as Leland's in Burlingame! We are
quite lucky that none of the meetups had to be moved too far from the original venues! Google the venue names and have a look at their websites to see
what they offer so you can save time during the meetings.
2. The owners' request
Our gracious venue hosts can't wait to welcome us and have given us the freedom to buy their offerings as we like! But in order to make sure the seats
are arranged, they have requested for an exact number of people who will surely be attending. And in order to efficiently track that, I request you to
please fill out the form by September 30.
3. We have a meetup card!
A couple of hundreds of postcards have been ordered of the design in the first post and they will be the standard 4x6 size! But then again, in order
for me to figure out how many postcards every attendee gets and how many I will send out to those who can't attend, it is extremely important that you
fill out the form or U2U me with your answers to the questions in the first post.
4. What we will be doing!
Attached is a little list that includes things that you can bring to the meetup and also what we plan on doing at the meetup. Please have a look at it
so you can plan accordingly! I forgot to add one thing, if you attend on Saturday in El Cerrito, there is a post office in the plaza but they are
closed on Saturdays but you can at least mail your postcards after the meeting. Try to write the addresses on the postcards or prepare a list of
addresses to whom you plan to send postcards to, ahead of the meetup! It will save you time. I also forgot to add a vital piece of information and
that is...to bring postage if you plan on mailing postcards after the meetup.

Dear sonataca,
We'd like to invite everyone organizing meetings around the 150th anniversary of postcards to do something a little bit extra on the day, if possible.
Here are some suggestions:
- Broadcast a little video message from your meeting, either live or by recording a video and uploading it. For example, sing or wish the postcard a
happy birthday, or show the world what your celebrations look like.
- Connect with another meetup happening simultaneously in another location, so that a small moment of connection can be established between the 2 groups of
postcard enthusiasts! Remember to reach out to the respective meetup organizer beforehand, in order to exchange contacts and sort out a suitable time.
- Take pictures and share them with us! Tag them #150yearsofpostcards or send them to us on social media or via email, so that we can share them with the whole community. We would like everyone to feel included and to show the world what the celebrations
of this special milestone look like.
Most of all, we hope you enjoy the event and this special day together — it's a birthday party, so remember to relax and have fun.
Good luck, and long live the postcard!
PS - Please note that the Postcrossing logo cannot be printed on a blue background, as per the Logo usage guidelines. |
