Hi all, I live in Dublin... I am travelling for work in these days until the end of November so it may happen that I have to spend that weekend
abroad, but if I won't, I'll be more than happier to spend the day with you!!!!! |

As well as xpaolas's recommendations. I would also recommend Abigail's Hostel on Aston Quay, it's beside O'Connell Bridge (central) so location is great for getting to and from the airport!
Avalon House
on Aungier St is within walking distance off St Stephen's Green and Grafton St.
There is also The Kingfisher (B&B) on Parnell St (off O'Connell St, though this would be dearer then a hostel!
I hasten to add I recommend above accommodation for location as I have not stayed in said accommodation

our flight back to Edinburg leaves 20.45 so we have to be airport at least 19:30 and leave of course by bus earlier to get to airport.
The relaxing drink sounds so good after long day program
do we need to get bus card for day to move around or shall we be on foot? |

No bus card required - We will just get one bus from city centre to Ballsbridge so we can pay the driver on the way in. |

Hi,
I'll be in Ireland and probably in Dublin that day, so I hope I'll make it to the meeting. Put me down as "maybe" since I don't know of my plans for
my trip yet. It'd be great to meet some Irish Postcrossers. |

In Dollart's case it would be much more economical and convenient for her to buy a family rambler ticket for the day at Dublin Airport when she
arrives.
The family rambler ticket costs €10.50 and covers 2 adults for the day on all buses run by Dublin Bus. This works out at €5.25 each for your express
Airlink bus into Dublin City and back to the airport in the evening and also the bus to ballsbridge.
The Dublin Bus Airlinks normally cost €10 return per person but with the rambler ticket it covers 2 people
Family Rambler Ticket (Dublin Bus)
Without the rambler it would be €10 each return for the Airlink to the airport and then €1.60/€1.80 each way per person to Ballsbridge working out
at aprox €15 each spent on bus fares compared to €5.25 each. Think off all those extra postcards you could buy
Express Airlink Services (prices)

Hi Heidi
The 747 stops on O'Connell St so is probably the best Airlink to get
The 748 usually stops on Aston Quay about a 2 minute walk from O'Connell St. Both buses leave form the same stop outside the main door at arrivals so
I would advise hopping on the bus that is there first
The Aircoach which Brian mentioned also serves O'Connell St and is a private service.
Aircoach fares
The rambler tickets are not usable on the Aircoach service only AIRLINK (Dublin Bus).
Heidi: You should be able to buy a family rambler ticket at the tourist office in arrivals or they sometimes have them available at the newsagents
too. Fingers crossed they are not sold out! You just validate the ticket when you get on the bus on the righthandside. Sometimes the driver will ask
to see the ticket. |
