Massachusetts Meetup - Let's do this! :) August again?!
Hi, all!
We're thinking of putting together a possible mini-meetup for January in Massachusetts. Nothing huge - just meeting at a Starbucks and furiously
writing out cards and laughing and ***finally*** meeting other Postcrossers! Anyone else interested?
Once I see where everyone is coming from, we can pick the meetup point. |

I'm interested! I live in Marlborough. I have a friend who might
be interested too, she lives in Framingham. I'll ask her about the meet up and let you know. |

Yes, I'm the Framingham person who is interested. I'm looking forward to meeting you all in some Starbucks in Massachusetts. |

I would be interested too. I'm in Danvers. I have a friend down the Cape who might be interested and one I might be able to bring from Marblehead.
For me it's just going to depend on the date. |

OK, let's plan a date (maybe in February, with a snow date planned?) and a location. Any suggestions? Even if it's just the three of us that would
be great! |

February sounds good. Are we looking to do it on a weekend or weekday? Where is everybody coming from? I'm in Danvers though if it is during February
school vacation I may be down the Cape for a few days. |

Well, TheGreenOne, you can bring the Goat and Sausage if you like. It's up to you!
At meetups you get to meet other Postcrossers, which is the best part. I've never been to one, so I'm just making this up. I'll have MissMaple or
someone check in here to post to give us the scoop. Usually people trade cards to send out to other members from the meetup, too, as a greeting.
Then we could visit some place that has postcards, but here in the US there aren't as many cool places as Europe. |

Well, look at what the cat dragged in... here I am
I have been to a few meet-ups and all of them were very different...
I have had smaller meetups, just two or three postcrossers meeting, those are usually more or less like regular friends visiting or doing something
fun together
There are the slightly bigger ones, usually they last a about a day. We met somewhere, and during the day we had something to eat, went card shopping,
had more to eat, chatted a lot and wrote immense amounts of postcards
The even bigger ones were over the course of two or three days. One day is usually the big meeting day, doing the same stuff as I described before.
The other days, usually small groups of people meet up for dinner, something touristy, or just spend the day alone, discovering the area (this is
usually when people from abroad are attending these meetings)
The biggest one in Bielefeld is a different story, because we all stayed in one place...
Let me know if you have specific questions, because I find it difficult to write useful stuff out of the blue

If people wouldn't mind coming to Chelmsford, there is a great coffee shop here that wouldn't be as small as a Starbucks. It would be the perfect
place for a meet up! Plus, they have a great lunch menu, too, if we wanted to grab lunch as well. I'm thinking it would be a larger place and have
more room for us. It's also fairly close to Routes 495 and Route 3. Any opinions? Here's the link:

Oh yeah. They have wine, too. |

I would be fine with coming up. I would just have to know the day. My husband works weekends so I would have the kids. My sister in law works in
Dracut so maybe she would be willing to watch them for a while. If it was Sunday afternoon (other than the 6th) I'm usually free from about 12:30
(Our of church then) until when Matt needs to work at 5. |

I'm thinking we should bring twenty cards where it's a mini-meetup? We can have them pre-addressed to the people to whom we want to send. I'll also
sign us up for the Meetup RR, too.
We can also do cards for officials and RR's and have everyone sign them as well. It's always fun to get a card from a meetup! |
