I'd have to take a shuttle or something from L.A., stay overnight, maybe two nights to meet you one afternoon. So I'm not sure yet. Put me down as a maybe.

When I visited early 2007, the cheapest postcards were 10 for $1.00. I guess, prices have gone up ;)

When I was in San Francisco last weekend I only looked at the prices in Fisherman's Wharf. The cheapest there were 7 for a dollar. I'll have to check in Chinatown to see if those are still 10 for a dollar. Where did you find 10 for a dollar?

I think it was Fisherman's Wharf. But it's been 6 years, so I'm not 100% sure.

I didn't realize it was Memorial Day weekend. That makes it less likely that I'll be able to come. I think there's something really fun down here that I want to do that weekend that shockingly will trump even a Postcrossing meeting or two.

The yearly camping trip of my church. Camping together with my friends. We had wonderful meals, wonderful talk and lots of interesting activities last year and I expect the same this year. The only thing we won't have is postcards

Hi IDonCarlos! At our meet ups some of us bring postcards that we have already addressed to other post crossers or friends with whom we normally swap, or postcards we've addressed to ourselves, or tags from the forum or officials with postcard id numbers on them, or postcards that we are sending to someone for no reason at all! Then we pass all the cards around and everyone signs them before we mail them. I try to have my cards addressed and stamped before going to a meetup since it saves time. Sometimes people will come with extra cards and have everyone sign the card and decide later who will receive the card. Sometimes I bring a birthday card and have everyone at the meetup sign it before I send it to the birthday girl or boy. So when attending a meetup it is a good thing to bring:

Postcards, especially addressed and stamped
Extra stamps
Extra postcards
Your address book (not just to address extra postcards, but because we all put our addresses in each other's address books when we attend these things)

One thing I really liked about Alioto's when we checked it out last weekend is that there is excellent lighting in the place thanks to all the windows!! It will be very easy to sign postcards at the table.

There are 2 separate meetings - the one on 23rd May at Aliotos and the one on 25th May at Livermore - I see where the confusion has come from the first post in the Livermore meeting and I have asked the host to change his wording as it does make it confusing!

I hope you can make it IDonCarlos to the Alioto's meet up! I have a couple others who are definitely going too. Oh and Adrienne sorry I haven't had a chance to w U2U you back but I'm glad you received all the brochures. I still have a few Fishermans Wharf Maps with coupons in them if anyone else who is going wants one beforehand let me know.

Yes, Garry will definitely be there - just anyone try and keep him away from a seafood restaurant!!
The more the merrier is the story with these meetings - I just printed out a pile of address labels to bring to stick onto the postcards I will be sending out - what is the postage on a card to other parts of the world?

Postage is USD 1.10

That's smart to do labels for the addresses! I should remember that for my future travels.

Hi everyone! I am new to the city and new to PostCrossing. I just moved to San Francisco in February--and I don't know a lot of people. This is something I'd like to do. But I am not sure if you are cool having someone who hasn't really talked here before, come to your meet-up. I joined postcrossing, two weeks ago and tonight I happen to see there are forums, and saw this by chance!!

can I make a slight correction. my first name is Inez, and I am female. I explain my last name as a cousin six times removed (six degrees?) from Zorro. Now everyone go wiki Zorro. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
