Group 1074 - rec'd from AccemtPmJales a card of Wind River, WY - I laughed that you said it's not as fun to visit in the winter because of snow. Trust me when I say - I don't want to visit ANYWHERE in Winter except maybe a warm spot in the Caribbean! LOL

Happy birthday Mark! I hope you have a wonderful day!

Received #1060
ghnaabennett I hope you managed to find the cats and make some new friends! I'm glad you can be there with your mom in hospice, it must give you some peace of mind.

1073
sleepykitty people are wearing masks here for the most part! People exercising or walking around large parks and can social distance aren't wearing masks. They're mandatory in all stores though. We were supposed to re-open for outdoor dining on Wednesday but now these looters taking advantage of the protests have ruined nearly every restaurant and other business in Chicago (even gyms, hair salons, tax places... WTF), we won't open back up for a long time. This set us back so far and now we have no access to food via grocery stores or restaurants, at least in my area. It was very scary here Saturday night.

Happy birthday, Mark! :cool::)

Group 1077
KateRoseFl-Thanks for the postcard of Alcatraz, and I would love to go travelling, if I actually left my room.

Group 1060
Gnaabennet- Thanks for the lovely postcard of the museum in Victoria, BC. No, I have never been to Canada. I have been out of the states of the US, only to Puerto Rice to visit my mom's family.

Group 1059
Gnaabennet- Thanks for the lovely postcard of Birmingham, AL and for the info on what to do if I go there.

GROUP 1063

Gbnaabennett - a detailed black-and-white map of Belgium, with lots of information. I'm glad you enjoyed your visit there. I will look up their legend of the swans.

GROUP 1073

sleepykitty - a print of one of her own collages! You are talented.

GROUP 1076

daliz - this looks like a collage, too, with cutouts of paper with text, and with peeling paint. I've never tried making sourdough bread. I grew up on homemade white bread, but bake bread quite infrequently myself.

AccentOnHakes - Chimney Rock, NE, an odd geologic formation. I had fun looking up details. Thanks for the book recommendation. I confess, though, that I'm having trouble concentrating on books that require much thought now.

Thanks, everyone.

And Mark closed 1079 - addresses sent to participants!

I received some great cards:

Group 1065 - monkeyflower sent an updated version of famed WWII poster, Rosie the Riveter - Masked! Question, Terri. Why don't you start practicing before your lessons start up again?

Group 1067 - monkeyflower sent a political card that is seriously funny, but it's hard to laugh at much with what's happening...so I do hope this (WARNING: Content will be offensive to some voters) may be a reality after the November elections.

Thanks, everyone

Hope everyone is staying safe! I have sent cards for 1077. Sorry it took me forever, I learned a few days ago that a friend from China just got covid. He's in good health, but I am just a bit worried about him.

I have received

Group 1076

AccentOnHakes - Nebraska card. I like both fresh corn and sweet corn. I sometimes miss fresh corn too.

hootnoodle - Milt Hinton playing a double bass. It's so cool seeing translators and localizers! They truly help people to get used to an unknown place. Congrats on her employment!

Group 1077

KateRoseFL - Gold Gate Bridge card. It's great that you can help people again! I just started a book called The Russian House by John Le Carré.

Thanks for the cards, and add me to another group, please!

Note to leolikesdvorak - Have you received all of you cards for group 1070? I seem to have misappropriated some of LetsGoPens' cards among the group.

Sorry for the inconvenience. :duh:

Group 1068

From jocrafts: Received a card showing Odyssey Bookshop with lots of happy mail decorations on the back. :D Thanks, Jo! I've noticed some more activity on the street, too, but like you, I'm staying put for now. Most of the neighbors seem to be doing the same other than waving hello and dog walking. :)

GROUP 1076

Leolikesdvorak - the Green River Overlook in Canyonlands National Park. Yes, I've been to Utah. We took a family camping vacation to that region in 1992, and visited all five of Utah's National Parks, plus Mesa Verde in Colorado, and the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Awesome scenery! I definitely want to go back, but not sleep in a tent next time.

Card report!

1070
leolikesdvorak Haha--my Chinese reading ability is abysmal now. I can only read very simple things...

1074
Jocrafts Van Gogh artwork. I haven't visited LSU, but I've seen lots of Stanford so I can imagine what it looks like now!
LetsGoPens a great island travel poster. Thanks! Memorial Day was nothing special for me.
emilyann How was the shopping trip? I hope that means your legs are feeling better.

1076
treeclimber sent me the bridge at Hoover Dam! Thanks! I walked this one about a year and a half ago.

Emilyann-Thanks for the beautiful postcard today and it is cool you got your mom's typewriter. I still would rather have a computer, though.
