GROUP 823

Gbnaabennett - Blanket Mountain Falls in the Great Smoky Mountains. I want to visit that area. Hope you have clean water again now!

GROUP 826

clouisesz - an oversized, summer-y card of Chicago's Crown Fountain, with children playing in it. We had sunshine today, but it was cold. (That is, cold by Olympia standards, not Chicago standards. It was above freezing). Summer is my favorite season here.

Amphipodgirl - winter sunset over the Tuolumne high country (Yosemite). We are seriously thinking about a visit there soon.

Thanks, everyone.

It really is beautiful. It's much too long since I've gone, and my husband has never been.

So yesterday I went to the annual white elephant sale that supports one of our museums. It's epic -- literally a warehouse full of stuff. They had postcards for 10 cents each, so I bought 80 for $8. Even at that, I only looked through about 1/3 of the boxes they had there -- I wanted to get on to other departments. Most of the cards I bought are legit vintage -- a few written, mostly unwritten -- and maybe 10% are contemporary. So I guess what I'm saying is I'm rarin' to go!

What a fun way to spend the day. And what a great price for postcards.

out of town for a couple of days, so much fun opening my mailbox to some great postcards

#815
accentonhakes "the spirit catches you and you fall down" sounds Biblical :)

#825
Gbnaabennett A very sweet heart in an envelope. Flooding is awful. Sorry to hear you are dealing with it. Something we seem to go through every year.

#826
amphipodgirl I love your postcard. You are so creative with your collage. Yes my middle name is Louise. Not a family name for me, however Connie is, I'm named after my grandfather, Conrad, and I have many cousins named Conrad. My son's middle name is also Conrad. I am the only girl named after him, thank goodness they went with Connie, which is what most of his close friends called him. I love that you shared your family history of names with me. Thank you

It's 20 something degrees with wind chill of 4. And guess what? My heating went out during the night. I am frozen - even with an electric blanket and space heater blowing in my face. Typing with gloves! Someone is coming - sometime today - and sometime isn't soon enough!!

Good news! The Double Feature Group closed and I just sent the address list!

I think I've made all the updates

Received from Savagepink a flat-out gorgeous handmade card on the theme of marine exploration. Thank you so much, Allison! I wasn't previously familiar with Juliana Coles, but it sounds like you really got charged up by her workshop.

I've received a pile of cards this week!

815-

Gbnaabennett sent an adorable Christmas tree comprised of kitty cats! Playing cards with friends sounds like a wonderful evening! :)

Hyshu65 sent a great vintage ad for ladies shoes! :)

butterfli75 sent a cool tree card. I could see myself taking walks there too! And I love the blue washi and butterfly stickers you used!

Hootnoodle sent a much appreciated card of a solar flare! Always love the space cards! :)

Bethmnie sent a fantastic card of a vintage teddy bear, Olive circa 1925  and the teddy stamps make it just perfect! I always wished I could have afforded one of those vintage beauties, but they are thousands of $$$$ your teddy pillow story made me smile

Tandemstoker sent a great card on The Kokopelli legend. Sounds like you had a great trip! :)

Monkeyflower sent a cool B&W card of kids herding cattle down a country road. I always love going to the animal barns at the fair every year. I seem to be drawn to the fowl and rabbit barn first.

818-

Jesserz sent some beautiful California Poppies! Hope your hubby will enjoy his New gardening hobby. I like to grow mostly perennials so I don't have to replant every year. Especially if they attract butterflies and humming birds. :)

AccentOnHakes sent a beautiful tapestry painting called Cherry Blossom Viewing from Japan. :)

822-

Gbnaabennett sent 2 Bign Horn Sheep in the mountains. All the rain you were getting smeared some of the ink but I was still able to read it. Hope you are drying out now and no more rain is forecast for a while.

Jamessveta sent one of his wonderful photos! This one of an old abandoned barn. Your trip to Grand Haven to photograph the lighthouse sounds like fun! Hope to see some of those photos some day! ;) Checkout my photography page and you can see all my photos...https://www.facebook.com/jamessveta

AmphipodGirl sent a pretty ladybug on a pink flower! The pillow case your finishing for your mother-in-law sounds like a very special project. I'm sure she will appreciate and treasure it! :)

MichelleW sent a beautiful flowered trillium and purple phacelia in bloom at the Great Smokey National Park. Sorry to hear the weather ruined your trip to the zoo. I haven't been to the zoo in years. Sounds like a fun trip to do with the grands this summer.

Thank you all for the fabulous cards and friendship! :bouncing:
