Yes, I lived through that tornado. Our house wasn't hit, but we had damage and debris. A very scary and humbling moment. My class was the last one to attend the downtown Joliet school. I graduated from (when it was still just one high school) in 1996. Go wildcats!

That was one of the scaries tornado I can remember. My brother's house wasn't hit either, but every other house from his south was destroyed. I don't know how his was missed, it was only feet from all the destruction.

Hello There!

A few more card in the box over the last few days. Thanks to the following:

GROUP 800

-from iwritedeb a wonderful painted Mexican mask.I would love to see the animal masks they sound fantastic.

-from Maleko a fun sticker postcard with Mai Tai beauty. Funny I never saw her on any of the beaches I went to in Hawaii!

-from Gbnaabennett a handmade collage pc with silhouette. Happy Anniversary!

-from daliz a beautiful view card from Sedona Arizona. A play festical sounds like a lot for work. I hope you are rested up from the fun.

-from Hyshu65 a view card of a sailboat on Faino Beach in Grand Bahamas. That beach looks like a wonderful place to escape from the world and the Winter.

Received from hootnoodle a Essence of Seattle card. Thanks :) Our weather has been crazy here. Last week we had record cold temps and over the weekend it warmed up and rained. Now this weekend it will get cold again. I'm looking forward to Spring and warmer weather!

Group #809

koyohtay Annii good luck on the move. I am very excited for you. Thanks for the "so tail-ented!" postcard.
Monkeyflower You have to admit, that those otters are still cute, even if they eat the abalone. The circle of life.

#812
hootnoodle Washington Tulip farm. I never think of tulips coming from Washington, just Michigan. Was the play Men in Boats a good one.
jamessveta A beautiful photo postcard, statue of a boy and girl playing under a raining umbrella. Your photography is always lovely. We have a similar statue in a small town by me. Only ours is an elderly gentleman under the umbrella holding his hand out to see if it is still raining. People are always putting coins in his hand. I wonder if it by the same artist.

Lots of cards arrived today.

GROUP 800:

AmandaLasen - the James Geddy House in Colonial Williamsburg. I really need to plan another trip. My travel wishlist is so long.

GROUP 809:

monkeyflower - a fun sign about planning that trip. Perfect!

GROUP 810:

Steresem - a great view of a railroad trestle. If those are your only bad habits, you are doing very well indeed.

Blue_Fox - a French poster about spine posture. The words are almost identical to the terms in English!

Hyshu65 - a card from her 2018 cruise, Montego Bay, Jamaica. I've never gone on an ocean cruise. I worry about motion sickness.

sunnydays - the painting, "Washington Resigning His Commission" by Edmund White. Your recent temps sound frightful. Temps here are just below freezing today, and we think that's cold.

GROUP 811:

butterfli75 - a map of Illinois. Map cards are definitely helping me learn geography. No, I haven't read any books by Tana French. Did you find one with an ending you liked?

GROUP 812:

clouisesz - a sign for an old-fashioned diner. They have much more character than the chain fast food places.

jamessveta - a great personal photo, "Michigan Winter", of snowy branches with red berries

Thanks, everyone!
