I was just checking to see whether any of my cards have gotten lost. Gbnaabennett received my card of Yosemite's Bridal Veil Falls for group 873.

Since I assumed Blue_Fox completed group 881, I went ahead and mailed my cards for this group.

Please add me to 882.

I guess yesterday was a special day for me! I graduated from my undergraduate program, but it was ALSO my 1 year anniversary with Postcrossing! In light of this happy and totally unplanned coincidence, I thought it was only appropriate to share my decorated grad cap with everyone here:

I'm taking the summer off from postcards due to address changes. I'll be back once I move into my new apartment in August. In the meantime, feel free to reach out via PM or hop into the NA Colors RR. :)

Congratulations, Karen! Those are terrific caps. Are you heading for medical school next year? Where?

Good morning!

Here's one way Texas weather gets confusing. We had thunderstorms early in the morning. They can't decide whether there will be more storms or not. The Weather Service issued this statement:

"This type of activity cannot be easily "timed" or "placed" as it is driven by small-scale features dependent on preceding convection. The main message here is to keep an eye on weather if you have outdoor plans and be prepared for perhaps rapidly changing forecasts in the coming days."

LOL! Translation: We don't know so you just go check outside for the current weather.

Group 881 closed and anyone who asked after Blue_Fox joined has been added to 882 :)

Thanks, everyone - keep on posting

And I dont know about you, Michelle, in Dallas, but on my side of DFW got wallopped around 4. In my backyard I saw black and pink, yes, pink clouds swirling around. Luckily it did not form a funnel and we just had crazy straight-line winds and torrential rain. Still cloudy out, don't know if we are done. Twice in one day is enough for me!

Group 877

I received from

AmphipodGirl a black seahorse

MichelleW a picture of an olde map, a camera and 3 photos, all sepia colored.

Thank you both!!

We didn't have the same kind of winds around my area this time, thank heavens, but we did have wave after wave after wave of thunderstorms from 4 until about 10 p.m. After the prior weekend, I believe straight-line winds are right there with tornadoes. Parts of Dallas are still cleaning up!

Received today group #880

HootNoodle - I love the same struggle different difference card! I'm so happy to be back :) As much as I love my new job and new home, I'm very much looking forward to retirement, lol. It sounds like you had a great year last year with lots of travels! We're going to Aruba this year and to Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Tokyo next year :)

MichelleW - I love this baby green turtle card! When I lived in Florida, I did tons of scuba diving and occasionally ran into loggerhead turtles, which are massive! The high rises here are gorgeous. I love the old industrial loft feel, although right now we can't afford one. They're so unique and I love the exposed brick. We live in a high rise in a corner unit and have windows on 3 out of 4 of the sides of our apartment, it's soo bright and I love the natural light. I hope all is well in Texas!

877
Thanks Angeldreamer for the Van Gogh. I actually have the cross stitch pattern for that one, I don’t know the title in English though.

877
Thanks Michellew for the display of masterworks by Thiebaud. I like the Mondrian one best out of that bunch.

877
Thanks Amphipodgirl for the retro Sea World card. I used to work there during the summers when I was in college. So glad I don’t have to go there every day anymore!

879
Thanks Michellew for the red and blue chairs. My new job is ok, there isn’t really a lot to do... so kinda boring. Oh well, I get paid so that’s all that matters.

Received:

877 Double of Nothing

From Angeldreamer a pretty card with a verse from Galatians and some thoughts on karma. Also a beautiful cactus stamp!

From EmilyAnn a very shiny "your sparkle has not gone unnoticed". Aw, shucks, ma'am!

879
From EmilyAnn a Richard Kern photo of a girl with braces. Been there!

From MichelleW a photo of a very colorful basket made of telephone wire by a South African artist. We used to do telephone wire jewelry at summer camp. I loved the colors!

Thank you to all of you!

Group 877 - Double or Nothing Group!

I received ...

Emilyann. Meow! I don't think this kitty enjoys wearing that bowtie! LOL! Happy summer relaxing and reading. Any recommendations? Thank you, Emily!

Amphipodgirl. Birds from "Up". I loved that movie and need to watch it again. I know several people that LOVE to weed. I wish I did. My husband came in after mowing the other day and said, "Looks like we've got some weeds out there!" Argh! The ground is wet from yesterday's storm so maybe I'll do it today before another thunderstorm hits. Thank you, Chris! Did you sketch that dog?

MichelleW. Beautiful sugar skull and monarch butterflies! The back of the card is just as pretty as the front decorated with bright washi and stickers! Had a severe thunderstorm yesterday and expecting another one today. Planning to help our son move from Helena, MT to Kent, OH sometime this summer. He's spending the next couple of weeks in Seattle and Portland. Thank you, Michelle!
