I see your hint... ;) 4 groups have to close before 900. I may go ahead and open it up for "enrollment," but I'll surprise everyone. Maybe today...tomorrow...who knows? :P

:singing:

Group 890 - lebebona sent an incredible card from the Sacramento meetup in June. Wow. Whoever did this is obviously a professional! No, I don't go to meetups simply because my hearing is so poor. It's frustrating for everyone. Thank you for the card and I am very happy you've come back to Postcrossing! :D

Received an honorary card for Group 892 from hootnoodle that's a poster for the 2007 Olympia Arts Walk. I love stained glass - thank you, Mary! :D

Thanks, everyone - keep on posting!

Group #892
Nowaglas sent a roadrunner pc with facts. I have never seen a roadrunner!

Hootnoodle Sent a Washington Sunflower PC ~ I got two Sunflowers pcs today, which I could use. The owner of our house recently told us he will be selling after we have lived here 7+ years. Now we are trying to decide if we should buy the house or move. The thought of moving makes me want to cry!
I have not been to many theater productions. We have the Mondavi center here and since my husband works there we get a discount. We recently saw a Cirque and mexican folk dancers.
Amphipod Girl sent a Salado pottery pc in a polychrome design. That is my first pottery pc thanks! My 10 year old goes to camp for 4 days with scouts, I need to find a girl scout troop for my 6 year old to join, I think she would love it!

Thanks Amphipodgirl for the WA Natl Cathedral card. I don’t eat ice cream very often, but I like those Tillamookies— ice cream sandwiches made with Tillamook ice cream. The best!

I’ll join the next 2 even numbered groups, 896 and 898. Thanks.

Not complaining - just enjoying it while it lasts.

I did receive a card from MichelleW - going in my favorites pile.

Cannot tell you really what it is but here are some more memes.

- It's about time!
- Oh Sharon, wow!

I could go on and on but then I will get in trouble

thank you for the awesome card.

No migraine today. Overdosed on Benadryl yesterday and it did the trick (after I took my migraine medicine) :P

wow - what a happy mail day! and it came early today which is a plus!

892:
AmphipodGirl - what a cool card- Golden Gate Bridge - I hope one of your girls did ok at camp. I am glad you are enjoying the traveling envelope - personally, I love it and more peeps in here need to be in it! Thanks for the nice card!

DariaSmith - this card is so cool. thank you! I love the cutout cards. Fun! I appreciate the card! I am a cat person - I have three- peanut, butter and cookie, but I used to have dogs in my first marriage - neopolitian mastiff, rott, dalmation etc........ and pet rats, and cats but we won't get into all of that!

894:

EmilyAnn - awe - coyotes- I see them all the time and we have bears, like this postcard. The coyotes typically stay away from people - at least the ones in the "505" (area code)..... they prefer little cats and dogs. sigh. Mother nature. They do look a lot like dogs though!

hootnoodle - thank you Mary for this very "different" card. I like it a lot! Tattoo flash early 1900's. I should collect that series - Tattoo Art. I still don't have a tattoo yet but I know once I get one, I will get too many -- like my piercings (16) - but I do know where I want my first tattoo. On my wrist by my fitbit - with an anchor. Anchor's mean stability (at least to me). Glad you had a nice 4th. I packed for my less than 24 hour trip to Vegas and babysat the cats because of the firework noise. Can you believe that people in the neighborhood are still lighting those damned things off? My poor kitties.

that's all for now. Fun day!

887:

Received from tandemstoker, the cutest baby mountain lion. I am not sure if I will see the Lion King, though I have heard it is fantastic and to bring a box of tissues!

Received from michellew, a great Ben Franklin quote. I had no idea he was estranged from his son for supporting British rule. I wonder how much of that kind of thing is going on today.

Thank you both!

Chris, thank you for the lovely vintage card! Always makes my day to get a intake card. I really love the quaint house with the American flag.
893- amphipodgirl
Chris, thank you for always sending thoughtful cards. The dogs are so sweet, I love it. Also, you always have the neatest stamps! Where do you get them? Next time you’re sending two cards, feel free to combine them into one envelope to save $$ on postage.

I'm glad you like the cards! I acquired the doggies from a traveling envelope with you in mind.

I used to get my vintage postage from etsy but I've started getting it from eBay more recently. In both places there are shops that sell some of their postage at below face value. I actually got some from eBay just today -- if you search for "postcard combinations" you'll get ones that are guaranteed to add up to 35 cents, which is convenient but may result in less variety.

I get mine on ebay all of the time...search for discount postage...or discount US postage. You will easily find vintage postage at 60-70% of face value all of the time. Then you just pick the amount you want to spend. some sellers will have packs of $15 or less and they go all the way up into the $100 and over range. I have also made specific requests a few times when getting a large amount and am able to get the will rogers stamps so that I have a few on hand at all times to go with my will rogers cards (he was born near my town in an area now covered by the lake and everything around here is generally named for him!)

Group #892
Dariasmith sent a color yourself car theme card. I will have my daughter color it in and add it to my collection. Thanks. I am particular about my pens, depending on what I am doing. I bought the fine line sharpies to write on the glossy pc but don't love them on the papery ones bc they bleed a bit.
