Petition for US Postcrossing stamp?

Several countries have already issued Postcrossing stamps (Finland, Holland, Belarus, etc.). Russia is on the way, I believe, in 2015. I was wondering if they could issue one in the US.

Actually, they do accept citizens' suggestions, so I'm going to send them one! If anyone wants to join, just send a card or letter suggesting issuing a Postcrossing project stamp. Here's the address:

Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee
475 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Room 3300
Washington, DC 20260-3501

Who knows, maybe if many of us suggest this stamp, they will listen? We'll have our own stamp then! :)

US Postcrossing stamp

We might need a petition en bloc to get the CSAC to notice.

Based on reading between the lines of a letter from a resigning member of the CSAC (ex postmaster resigned, rather upset with ineffectiveness of CSAC and their function), it seems that the USPS is interested in making stamps if it will sell a lot and make $$.

If we can get a large enough movement (a petition?) that we want a postcrossing stamp, maybe CSAC and USPS will take notice.
I heard Germany had a petition to get their Postcrossing stamp.

Are you interested in getting a petition going (online)? I'm not sure if CSAC takes petitions though (all correspondance seems to be through the mail, not online site, so I don't know if that would matter).

PM me; I'm thinking about how to do this.

A petition could be the way to go - if a decision is made about what sort of route to take for this, keep us updated!

In the past I have seen someone started a petition for a Harvey Milk stamp (though it didn't collected enough signatures, now we do have the stamp).

The Postcrossing stamp idea still needs to be submitted to CSAC, but I think online petition is good, because not only US but anyone in the world could participate, boosting the number (As of today Facebook is blocked in China, but change.org isn't. ;)) I think there are many members outside of US who'd vote for a Postcrossing stamp.

I think a lot of German Postcrossers would help and sign. :)
Just send me a message and I will post a message in our German Sub-forum here.

Postcrossing Stamp for the USA

Postcrossing's 10th anniversary got me thinking about a Postcrossing stamp for the USA. I designed a stamp (not real of course) but I was wondering if American Postcrossers could get together and have USPS issue a Postcrossing stamp!

Well the petition is closed...but I mailed a letter to that address in the first post where I explained what postcrossing was and how many people from USA are active on postcrossing and why it is a good idea to have a postcrossing stamp. They received my letter and sent me a postcard confirming it. Will post the image of that postcard later.

Send a card to the USA Postal to support our American friends!

Dutch Postcrossing stamps card send to USA Postal!

To support our American Postcrossers we've send a big postcard.
With the Dutch Postcrossing stamps sheet on it.
And a real Dutch Postcrossing stamp with our famous painter Rembrandt van Rijn on it.
Who shouted loud: "Happy Postcrossing!"
So we hope in future to receive postcards with the first U.S.A. PC stamps on it?

Good Luck!:spin:

Do you think it's time to revive this proposal? Did you ever get more information about what the committee thought of your suggestion?

By my calculation, there have been more than 347,000 postcards sent by U.S. postcrossers this year, and there were 645,676 postcards sent in 2016!

I am getting envious of the countries with postcrossing stamps!

Maybe we should put this info in our regular Postcrossing profiles? Not all Postcrossers use the forum, so when the USA users draw different addresses and see this, they'll take a minute to write?

I just came across this post. I think that's a great idea! I'm adding that to my profile about how to request a Postcrossing stamp from the USPS.

PostCrossing Stamp USA

Recently the USPS gave me the address of where to send a request to have a PostCrossing stamp created. I wrote them a letter and was wondering if we bombarded their office, we might get one. Here is their address.....

Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee
475 L’Enfant Plaza SW, Room 3300
Washington, DC 20260-3501

They give you the criteria needed to get a stamp made. I believe you can send a pic for approval. Any good artists out there?
